I & H Brown have further cemented our strong reputation in the waste sector, by securing a contract with FCC Environmental, to deliver a major refurbishment to their Huyton Waste Transfer Centre in Liverpool.
The scope of work will include repairs to, and proving of existing drainage networks, installation of new water pipes, clearance of overgrown vegetation in the external yard area and installation of new concrete and precast concrete. The project will also include stripping out remaining redundant electrical systems, installing new mains electric network, and new lighting. Replacement of roller shutter doors and pedestrian fire doors. Additional works include repairs to the roof of the main three buildings.
The biggest challenge with this project is the tight programme, which means there will be several sub-contractors on site concurrently. This will require close co-ordination and understanding of each other’s programmes to ensure all contractors can carry out their work with no disruption.
This is the first time I & H Brown have worked with FCC in England, and we look forward to building a strong working relationship in the region.
Works commenced 16th of March 2026, with an expected duration of 18 weeks.
