MARKETING COORDINATOR

The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for supporting the delivery of effective marketing, communications, and social value activities across I & H Brown. The role will create and coordinate engaging content that promotes the Company’s projects, people, expertise, and values, while supporting business development, recruitment, stakeholder engagement, and the Company’s wider reputation. The role will work closely with teams across the business to ensure all communications are accurate, professional, and aligned with Company standards.

The Marketing Coordinator plays a key role in promoting I & H Brown and strengthening the Company’s profile across the construction and wider business sectors. The role offers a varied mix of content creation, digital marketing, social media, events, bid support, and social value activities, helping to showcase the Company’s work, people, and contributions to the communities in which we operate.

key responsibilities

  • Develop and support marketing and communication activities that promote civil engineering capabilities, project experience, people, values, and reputation within the construction section.
  • Develop and support marketing and communication activity that promotes our additional company divisions of development, plant hire, farming & estates, and energy.
  • Create and manage content for our website, social media channels, case studies, project updates, award submissions, internal communications, and other marketing materials
  • Coordinate marketing campaigns, events, client communications, and promotional activity that support business development, recruitment, community engagement and brand awareness
  • Work closely with operational, commercial, bid, and management teams to gather project information and ensure messaging is accurate, consistent, and aligned with our brand
  • Monitor and report on marketing and communication performance, using insight from campaigns, social media, website activity and stakeholder engagement to recommend improvements
  • Support the development of high-quality case studies, project profiles, and photography plans that demonstrate our technical expertise, safety culture, innovation and delivery capability
  • Undertake bid writing to support our tendering/bid writing team in preparing tender bids when required.
  • Undertake graphic design, photography, and videography to produce modern and engaging marketing content
  • Where required, manage relationships with external suppliers such as graphic designers, printers, photographers, videographers, event providers and merchandise suppliers.
  • Coordinate social value communications by capturing and promoting community benefits, local employment, training, apprenticeships, charitable activity, environmental initiatives, and engagement with schools, colleges, and community groups
  • Work with colleagues to identify opportunities to support social value commitments within bids, projects, and wider business activity, ensuring outcomes are recorded and communicated effectively
  • Help prepare social value evidence, updates, and content for client reports, tender submissions, project communications, and internal updates
  • Stay up to date with marketing, communications, social value, and civil engineering industry trends, sharing ideas that strengthen our profile and stakeholder engagement
  • To be aware of all Company Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality (SHEQ) policies, procedures, and management systems. To ensure their application as they relate to your areas of responsibility.
  • Attend training and development activities as required.
  • Undertake any such duties which may be ascribed to the role (from time to time).

Skill, knowledge, and experiences

  • A degree, qualification, or relevant experience in marketing and communications is key to the role. Relevant experience of working in the construction or civil engineering industries is beneficial.
  • Experience in a marketing, communications, bid support, or business support role, ideally within construction, civil engineering, infrastructure, or a related B2B environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical project information into clear, engaging content for different audiences.
  • Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders.
  • Confident working independently and collaboratively with colleagues across office, site, and management teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar design tools to support in creating graphics.
  • Experience using social media platforms, email marketing tools, website content management systems, and basic reporting analytics.
  • An understanding of social value, community engagement, sustainability, or responsible business activity would be desirable/advantageous.
  • Full UK Driving Licence (Essential)
