Auldcathie District Park Wins Prestigious Award

We are delighted to announce that along with our client Winchburgh Developments Limited, Engineers Sweco and Landscape consultants Optimized Environments, we have been awarded the UK’s Best Sustainable/Urban Regeneration/Infrastructure Scheme. This was celebrated at the Environmental Analysts 18th Annual Brownfield Awards Ceremony in London for the Auldcathie District Park project.

The awards ceremony saw some prestigious projects being put forward for recognition by many clients, consultants and contractors from throughout the industry. Our Auldcathie project was rightly recognised for its technical quality and for having sustainability and the community at the heart of its purpose. The award judges said: “This project is an impressive example of bringing an abandoned site back to effective reuse. The project clearly benefits the surrounding area and provides a sustainable solution to a common problem”.

The project was the largest landfill reclamation site in the UK with over 85 acres of landfill developed to create the new community district park. The park boasts 15,000 new woodland trees, play parks and sports facilities as well as more than two kilometres of paths and fitness trails.

We would like to congratulate our project team and all involved in making the project such a success and an asset for the Winchburgh community!
